Admissions to Master of Information Technology at University of Texas El Paso
Prerequisites
Students entering the MIT program need to have a basic knowledge of data structures. This can be demonstrated by completion of a course such as CIS 3355�Business Data Structure or CS 2302�Data Structures, or by written description of previous relevant experience. Approval of experience will be by the MIT degree committee.
Application Requirements
To apply for the Master of Information Technology program, a student needs:
A bachelor’s degree
A minimum upper-division (junior and senior level courses) GPA of at least 3.0/4 scale
A satisfactory score on the verbal and quantitative portions of the GRE exam.
whose college education was in a language other than English need a TOEFL score of at least 600 (written test) or 250 (electronic test).
Submit a Statement of Purpose that explains why your are interested in the MIT program and details your academic/research interests.
Application Evaluation Process
Students need the following materials submitted to the Graduate School no later than July 31st to be considered for Fall admission, December 1st to be considered for Spring admission, or April 1st to be considered for Summer admission:

GRE scores
TOEFL scores (if required)
Transcripts
Statement of purpose
All completed applications will be reviewed at approximately ten days after the application deadline. If any of these items are missing or incomplete, the student will not be evaluated for acceptance into the program. Students will be notified via Email as soon as their decision has been made. Students whose materials are not submitted in time will be considered for acceptance into the next semester.
